Keith Hovis, composer of Mrs. Housel: A Suicide Suite

Keith Hovis, composer of Mrs. Housel: A Suicide Suite

Keith Hovis stood out in the Minnesota Fringe Festival for his dark musical comedies, with Mrs. Housel: A Suicide Suite he gets seriously dark. We talk about his song ‘The Nine Lives of Mrs. Housel’ and the bit of Minnesota history that inspired his one-woman folk infused musical. Hovis also touches on why you shouldn’t box in Musical Theatre as a genre. Mrs. Housel: A Suicide Suite was first produced at Freshwater Theatre Company. Keith Hovis produces under the name Devious Mechanics.

Mrs. Housel: Kelly Matthews

Guitar: Peter Hanson

Piano and Background Vocals: Keith Hovis
